The vineyard peach is originally a non grafted tree planted in the middle of the Beaujolais vineyards.
The hypersensibility of its powdery mildew skin allowed the winemaker to be alerted of the arrival of this fungus that could damage the foliage and grapes.
It is nowadays grown mainly in western Lyon, where the orchards have a great amplitude of day/night temperature ideal for the development of its flavours.
